Four Horses Test Positive from Olympic Games

The FEI today announces the results of the medication controls for the horses sampled during the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Forty horses were sampled (20% of the participating horses), and 4 test results were positive pending any confirmatory analyses.

It’s Official– The 12TH Paralympics Have Started!

The opening ceremonies this evening at Olympic Stadium were phenomenal – fireworks, dancers, the Tree of Life in the centre of the stadium with dry ice rising up – very impressive. There was a lot of energy there!


All Here, Accounted for and Ready to Compete!

Well, we're here!! And, so far it is all good – other than the few little hiccups in getting here last Friday.  The trip to get here (on Olympic Airways) was exhausting and I'm sure it won't be any better on the return. 


Diary from Athens - And so it ends...

The final day of competition at Markopoulo Equestrian Centre provided a lot of excitement, much of it due to the new format whereby the top 45 show jumping competitors from the week start with a clean slate to determine, over two rounds, the individual medals.  It also showed just how much of a roller coaster this sport can be.


First Ever Olympic Equestrian Medal for Ireland

Cian O'Connor riding Waterford Crystal won Ireland's first gold medal in the Individual Jumping Final tonight. Ireland is now the holder of the two most
prestigious gold medals of the discipline: the World and the Olympic titles (Dermot Lennon won the World Gold medal in 2002).
