2012 Date and Location Approved for Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships
The dates and location of the 2012 Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North have been designated. The competition will take place at the Kentucky Horse Park from July 18-22, 2012 - the week before the Olympic Games commence in London.
Breaking Dawn Named as ‘Omega Alpha Horse of the Month’ for November
Breaking Dawn, a bay 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding sired by Akribori and co-owned by Holzer and P.J. Rizvi, won both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle at at CDI3* Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on November 9 and 10, 2011, under the careful guidance of Canadian Olympian, Ashley Holzer.
Helmets Required for all Levels of Equine Canada Dressage Competition in 2012
Equine Canada and Dressage Canada are taking an industry-wide leadership role by requiring all dressage riders to wear helmets in competition. Commencing in 2012, a national rule change will require all riders to wear helmets for all levels of Equine Canada sanctioned dressage competition.

Canadian Para-Equestrian Team Wins Gold in Portugal
Canadian Para-Equestrian riders Lauren Barwick, Eleonore Elstone and Ashley Gowanlock won not only the team competition, which moved Canada into fourth place in the world, but were also victorious in eight of nine classes, posting scores that were all 70% or higher, in their stellar appearance at CPEDI 3* Arruda dos Vinhos in Portugal, held December 2–4, 2011.

Dressage Canada is pleased to announce that Christine and Augustin Walch of W. Charlot Farms in Stratford, ON, have been named as the 2011 Dressage Canada Owner(s) of the Year. The Walchs are the co-owners of Viva's Salieri W, a 10-year-old Canadian-bred Hanoverian stallion that represented Canada at the 2011 Pan American Games with Tom Dvorak of Hillsburgh, ON.
