Pia Fortmuller & Frida Gold Place 5th at FEI World Young Horse Championships

The 2015 FEI World Young Horse Championships took place at the beginning of August in Verden, Germany.

The sole Canadian entry was Pia Fortmuller riding the mare “Frida Gold” (Fürsten Ball x Roletto)

Frida, who is owned by Pia’s boyfriend Lars Busch, was first discovered at a foal auction when she was two years old by Lars who saw her potential the first time he laid eyes on her.

"And now two years later she is blossoming into everything we had hoped for and more!”, exclaimed Pia.

Frida and Pia started the competition in great form, placing third in their division with a score of 8.3. This was enough to qualify them for the Finals where the pair placed 5th overall amongst very strong competition (8.3).

“The most inspiring part of the competition is that Frida Gold was definitely a crowd favourite and she demonstrated such potential that we have been selected for the German Championships in Warendorf!”, enthused Pia. 

Calgary native, Pia has been based in Germany since 2009 and currently trains with Anna Febelkorn & Hans Heinrich Meyer Zu Strohen.
