2016 Canadian Olympic Dressage Rankings (Unofficial)

Equine Canada (EC) is still keeping the Canadian Olympic dressage criteria top secret.
Their published reasons (originally published on their website but has since been removed) included protecting athletes, avoiding exploitation by other countries, and protecting the intellectual property of volunteers.

EC's surprising and unusual approach this year is not only the opposite of what they've done in previous years, and unlike most sport federations such as the United States, but also seems to also be in contravention of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada who strongly advocate  that qualification criteria must be publicly available.

Since EC doesn't appear to be changing their position, we will endeavour to provide an UNOFFICIAL ranking list.

Given that there is also no list of declared athletes (unlike previous years), we have no way of knowing definitively which athletes have declared their pursuit to represent Canadian dressage at the Rio 2016 Olympic , and who haven't - so bear that in mind when looking at our rankings.

What we do know is that the criteria requires athletes to submit:

• Four (4) scores achieved within the period of January 1, 2016 to July 1, 2016.  
• A minimum of two (2) scores must be from the Grand Prix
• At least one (1) score must be from the Grand Prix Speciale.
