Derby House Launch New Sponsorship with British Eventing

Derby House, one of Britain’s leading equestrian retailers and mail order businesses, has increased its commitment to the sport of eventing with a host of new sponsorships planned for 2003.

Teaming up with British Eventing, the company will sponsor the Derby House Owner/Rider series at Novice and Intermediate levels. Riders across England, Wales and Scotland will have eight qualifying opportunities to secure a coveted place at the Championships at Henbury Hall in Cheshire over the weekend of August 24 – 25.

Derby House joined British Eventing earlier this year as sponsors of the Pony Squad for the European Championships in Hagen, Germany. To the delight of all concerned, the Derby House British Pony Squad returned home with a Team Bronze and Derby House have confirmed their continued support for 2003.

The company is once again backing the pony team aiming for the European Championships in an effort to assist with training and producing top riders of the future who will hopefully go on to be members of the junior, young rider and senior teams.

Derby House’s Paul Dickson commented: “It was wonderful to be involved with the pony team in 2002 and Derby House is very much committed to supporting young riders at grass roots level. Without companies like Derby House putting their weight behind the teams at lower levels, how can we hope to find the championship riders of the future. Derby House is delighted to be involved with the sport of eventing.”

British Eventing’s Chief Executive, Peter Durrant added: “British Eventing is extremely delighted that Derby House will continue with the Pony Squad, after all, they are our future Olympians. The extension of the sponsorship to cover the Novice and Intermediate Owner/Rider series is also most welcome. Their sponsorships cover two of the sport’s most vital areas – youth and grass roots and we look forward to working closely with Derby House.”

Through British Eventing’s new bi-monthly magazine, Derby House will bring BE Members added benefits by way of money-saving initiatives and discounts on selected products so everyone will gain from Derby House and British Eventing’s exciting partnership.
