The IPEC World Diving Championship was organised in Westphalia at the St Martin’s Carriage Driving Centre of Greven Bockholt from 25 to 29 September 2002. Excellent competition and warm-up arenas for Dressage and Cones competitions; were put at the disposal of the disabled drivers. The 10-km long Marathon included five obstacles within easy walking distance and which could be viewed from large raised banks for spectators. The World Championship was blessed with a wonderful weather and an excellent atmosphere.

Except one Canadian driver, all competitors brought their own horses. Twenty three drivers competed, representing Austria, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and USA.

The competition was integrated within the German National Driving Championships for Horse Pairs and Pony Teams. It was well organised, and the good scoring system allowed the spectators to understand well the I.P.E.C. Grade system.
